Disaster Information Outreach: A Symposium for Information Professionals Meeting Disaster Health Information Needs (Day 2) – videocast

National Institute of Health & National Library of Medicine to offer free videocast on disaster health information

The National Institute of Health and the National Library of Medicine are offering a free videocast on disaster health information.  As the recent tragedy in Japan has demonstrated, communities need to prepare for disasters and libraries play a crucial role in that preparation.

Registration for the Disaster Information Outreach Symposium, an event for and about information professionals meeting disaster health information needs, is currently to capacity.  However, this March 29 and 30 event will be videocast. Advance registration is not required to view the videocast.

This symposium will focus on librarians and libraries providing disaster-related health information for their hospitals, universities, government agencies, and communities. Speakers from the military, federal government, academic institutions, medical settings and voluntary agencies will describe their information needs. Librarians will share their efforts in working with these groups to provide high quality health information during disaster preparedness and response.
