This four-hour live online class will be held on January 17-18, 2012. Students must attend both days.
During this four-hour live online, two-part class, students will be introduced to copy cataloging principles, as well as specific procedures for searching, editing and taking final actions with bibliographic records in OCLC Connexion Browser. Hands-on exercises are included.
By the end of class students will be able to:
•Understand OCLC copy cataloging concepts
•Search for and choose matching catalog records
•Edit catalog records using Connexion Browser procedures and tools
•Perform authority control and use constant data
•Understand database maintenance and workflows within Connexion Browser
Jennifer joined LYRASIS in 1999 as a preservation microfilm specialist. She has held several positions within LYRASIS’ Member Services department ranging from the database services coordinator to Support Supervisor. She now is a member of the Professional Development team as a Professional Development Librarian specializing in technology, cataloging and metadata instruction. She earned her M.L.I.S. from Florida State University.
